This isn’t your typical kizomba social. Kitaba socials are designed to bring a slice of Angolan culture to Montreal. Traditional #semba AND #kizomba AND #kuduro AND #afrohouse, mixed together with smiles, laughter and the vibes of Kizomba Canada and its students. Every Wednesday, we offer a weekly complimentary (free!) kizomba class at 9pm, followed by our Kitaba social from 9:45pm-midnight. In the middle of a long work week, what better way to spice up your life and still get home at a reasonable hour. You’ll be humming kizomba songs for the rest of the week at the office.
Kitaba is a very typical dish in Angolan cuisine. It is mashed roasted peanuts, mixed with salt and a sprinkle of spicy gindungo on top. Thick and buttery, the cooler edgier older cousin to peanut butter. When served with chicken, it produces a flavor called mwamba. You eat mwamba and it fixes you up real good, body and soul. You already know, our Kitaba socials are gonna fix you up just as good. Come and enjoy with us. Bring your dancing shoes, 1-2 guests and your grandma too.
